Société Générale is looking for an experienced Lead Systems Engineer to manage, support, and enhance its enterprise Unix and VMware infrastructure. This role is ideal for professionals who have strong expertise in Linux and Unix administration, virtualization technologies, infrastructure monitoring, and automation scripting.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure services, ensuring platform stability, enforcing security standards, and supporting global teams across multiple regions. The position also involves project coordination, infrastructure improvements, and participation in Follow-The-Sun support operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor infrastructure environments and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Install, upgrade, maintain, and support Unix-based systems and services.
- Manage and support VMware virtualization platforms.
- Maintain high availability and performance of infrastructure services.
- Enforce technical, operational, and security standards.
- Create and review technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Follow ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Collaborate with global teams and participate in knowledge-sharing activities.
- Lead infrastructure-related projects and provide regular updates on schedules, budgets, and risks.
- Participate in maintenance activities, weekend support, and on-call rotations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux and Unix system administration.
- Experience managing Red Hat Linux and Solaris environments.
- Knowledge of Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster technologies.
- Experience working with VMware virtualization platforms.
- Proficiency in Shell and Perl scripting.
- Understanding of SAN and NAS storage architectures.
- Experience supporting enterprise x86 server hardware.
- Familiarity with Active Directory integration tools such as Centrify.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Experience with capacity planning and infrastructure monitoring.
- Ability to work in global support models and participate in on-call rotations.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage infrastructure projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
